THE  NEW MAN, an interesting MINI  SERMON

by Maude Narain.

A story is told that in the courtyard of a cathedral in Florence, Italy, a flawed piece of marble lay for a hundred years.  Then someone decided to do something about it.  He asked a brilliant young sculptor to do something with the flawed piece of marble.  The sculptor measured the marble and noted the flawed parts..  With his sculptor’s eyes, he envisioned an angel within the marble ready to take shape under his skilful hands.

The marble was taken to his studio and after three years of laborious work, the chiseling out of the imperfections and shaping the pure marble, the day came for the unveiling.  An angel of exquisite beauty was added to his masterpieces.  Michael Angelo had done it again.  Jesus, the Master Sculptor can do the same with our scarred damaged lives, if we yield our lives to Him.

The sculpting process will be very painful as He chisels out our imperfections, but at the unveiling, we will come out as angels.

If anyone is in Christ, he becomes a new creation.

Have Thine own way , Lord,   Have Thine own way;   Thouu art the Potter,   I am the clay;   Mold me and make me after Thy will,   While I am waiting, yielded and still.

that is proof that the chips do not fall far from the block. I know when Steve Naraine wrote for the Guyana Graphic, late fifties to the sixties.
Please share her poems when they become available.
