THE DESTRUCTION OF PLANET EARTH

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

THE DESTRUCTION OF PLANET EARTH

By: Randall Butisingh – July 29, 2008.

Mankind is systematically destroying the sensitive ecosystems which support life on earth. To date, very little effort is being made to stop and correct the damage being done. There is a lot being talked about, but remember: “talk” is not “action”.

Think of these things and view them with alarm for you will be prepared, so that when the time comes you will not panic. Tragedy may take some time to appear, if not in your time, which is likely, but surely to your children or grandchildren. So do not bury your heads in the sand like the proverbial ostrich, but take heed.

(1) The air is very much polluted by the emissions caused by the excessive burning of fossil fuels and the spraying of chemicals.

(2) There are large holes in the Ozone layer which let out the ultra violet rays of the sun caused by the emission of fluro bi carbides in the air. This makes it hazardous to bask in the sun, the chief source of vitamin D, for fear of damage to the eyes and skin.

(3) The forests, the lungs of the earth, are being wantonly destroyed by man for short time gain. This further depletes the oxygen of the air and renders it less fit for breathing

(4) Because of global warming caused by the green house effect due to the build-up of carbon dioxide in the air, there has been massive melting of the ice in the Polar Regions. This occurrence has already inundated several places. Not too many years from now, it will surely change the map of the world.

(5) The frequency of earthquakes, storms, tornadoes, floods and fires during the last decade has rendered many dead, homeless, exiled and impoverished.

(6) The destruction and sickening of bees, the farmer’s friend caused by the spraying of chemicals in the air will result in less production of food and the reduction and quality of honey.

(7) The global pollution of the oceans caused by the dumping of harmful wastes into them by greedy manufacturers is polluting the fish population. Also over fishing is diminishing the fish population, allowing the jellyfish to multiply and compete with the shark and tuna for food.

(8) Genetic engineering and the use of hormones and antibiotics for the production of meat for quick gain is ruining the health of nations and producing freaks, physically and mentally. The cause of most of the illnesses in the world is from the food we eat.

(9) The pumping out of the earth of millions of tons of water for

Manufacturing purposes and millions of tons of oil is the cause of landslides and lowering of the water table. The shortage of pure water will be a near possibility.

(10)The testing of nuclear weapons hazards the environment and its use, which is a possibility, if it falls in the hands of terrorists will bring to its close this civilization.

I am sure that readers can extend on this list. I have lived for almost 96 years and I have seen the changes in our environment over the decades. I am therefore extremely concerned about the future of civilization, as we know it, on Planet Earth.

I have to say that reading this really made me laugh. This was just too funny and too pathetic to pass up on. I’ll try to be fair but I doubt I’ll be able to hold back most of what brings me to tears from cracking up. Just a few questions:
    1) What data do you have to verify all of this?
    2) What does the death of the homeless, exiled and impoverished have to do with the destruction of earth in the future?
    3) What makes bees so important to the environment that it would lead to the destruction of the world? (And God forbid the quality of honey drops!)
    4) I was about 98% sure on this but isn’t there a way to purify water? Oh wait, yes there is… hmmmmmmm…
    5) And finally, aren’t we already doing all we can to get nuclear weapons out of the hands of madmen?
    And the obvious answer: YES!

Man, if you can’t see why this is so hilarious to me then that’s a joke in itself. Please, I really would like a response from the person who wrote this because… WOW! You do not know a damn thing about any of this stuff. You should probably call it quits and retire because it doesn’t look like you’re made to last in this world. Have fun spending the rest of your life being an idiot.
    GOD SAVE THE BEES!!!

Adam, Thanks for exhibiting your twisted thinking; but this is a free country and I will leave your comment to the scrutiny of others. I will be surprised to find many as wise as you. I will however expunge your obscenity about the Queen. I cannot tolerate your discourtesy to your betters. The aim of this weblog is not for that.

      Adam,

Your ignorance of the plight of the rest of the world is so obvious. Have you left your neighbourhood lately or the computer screen you are glued to?

Wake-up from your slumber and do your own research not by just reading information found on the internet, but through real life experiences.

    • Andy Wagner said,

      Dear Adam,
I want to comment on what you wrote and I am happy to for you to bounce something back in my direction.
      1) you dont need data to back things up, humanity did better without this for many milenia. I remember a farmer I got to know when I lived in Austrialia and who said, after a long heated discussion about environmental changes and the general state of things, in a very dry way, that the problems only started after the scientist got a say in things. And when you analyse things, this is exactly the point.
      2) I guess not a lot but show some compassion
      3) If the bees go, we go…. read the, as an exception, findings of scientist, you will not be able to enjoy most of the foods you munch on in present times, and combined with the losses in other habitats you may possibly have the data at hand to calculate the point in time from which your belly will start complaining
      4) pure water is already almost out of existence, purification technics
are applied to make water drinkable but can not remove all quantities of chemicals applied by some of our fellow co-habitants of the planet and I think this is what the guy here wants to tell us to be concerned about (check the oestrogen like influences of many substances which have nasty effects on espically the male organism, I am quite concerned about that, I dont want to grow boobs because some moron keeps dumping chemicals in the global water circulation which is what is happening, and the release of these may also give you cancer, which is not so good either
      5) right you are, its very common to voice concerns about those instruments of destruction, but read for example one point safe by the Cockburns and have some sleepless nights. By gods law of chance its only a question of time before something goes down….

I dont think there is a necessity to laugh at an old guy if he is who he claims. The wisdom the elders carry is of more value than any blabla you find elsewhere.

iam for some reason being exposed to large amounts of biological toxins but acannot figure out why or what is causing it just for looking into the planet earth being being destroyed including the water supply bees and other things.

      Thanks for you frank speak.

I think you have understood what the article is telling about. I really feel that you felt offended by that.
For my point of view, you don´t need to act like that. You can write another article to show that you know more deep about the topic. We human being used to have our weaknesses and sometimes we are strong according to what we are facing on daily life.
Maybe you are educated enough or you feel directly that you are doing something related to what Butisingh is explaining.
      Take it easy!
Well i´m not writing to educate you but to share my point of view about you attitude. You are never obligated to agree what you think that is not clear, make it better and clear.

Going to the Butisingh topic and point of view i really agree.
Now a days MONEY is a Standard to do or Get everything.
The world is being destroyed, people dont care, but they care about business.
Poverty is seen as a way to get more rich. People become Dependent in all issues and they feel blame because of many bad issues that are provoked by Money People or Owners.
The educational systems in the poor countries is manipulated so that people cannot get enough knowledge, the government system is manipulated also and not poor nation can take it´s decision.

Now we used to say or see on the media that in Africa people are provoking global worming by cutting trees. But let´s to see how much pollution is made per day in developed countries?

Some people are being educated well but they are world destroyers, so education for nothing. Education is very important in the way of using different ways to serve the society, but LET´S MOVE ON, our future generation will just be survivors with nothing for better life.

      Thanks for this opportunity

    • peter davies said,

Laugh it off you may. I will just give you some facts.
Lets just take flooding of the UK rivers during heavy rain e.g worcester and towns on the river severn.
In the 1960’s, farmers in mid wales were given grants to drain the hill bog land. In so doing they created a very efficient system of drainage to the streams feeding the severn tributaries. The result of which causes mass water flow to the severn and imediate increase in its level — result uncontrolable flooding. The bogs in the higher reaches of mid wales absorbed heavy rain down falls and then the water was released slowly into the streams. Not any more.
The ozone hole above the artic is sizeable but not as big as that of the antartic. This as the blog depicts, causes ultra violoet light and unwanted cosmic radiation, corpuscular radiation, to enter the earths atmoshere. Whilst corpuscular radiation is mainly blocked by the earths magnetosphere it is allowed easement via the hole in the ozone layer. A study was completed a few years ago by making the Hydrogen line above the poles ” ring ” by transmitting powerfull radio waves and getting the H line to oscillate to assess the properties of
the ozone hole. The ozone hole has been man made that is without doubt. It has been estimated that its repair could be in the order of 50 years. In the meantime the increase in skin cancers has trebled. When I was 15 skin cancers were vertualy unheard of.
Lets just recap on the 96 yr olds reference to radiation from nuc tests. In the 50/60’s Britain France USA and the Soviet union conducted hundreds of ground, air burst and underground nuclear tests. The fallout from these tests and others resulted in widespread radiation polution of the surrounding test areas, as well as high altitude polution which swept the world via the jet streams. In mid wales during the 60’s farmers were not allowed to graze sheep on the uplands due to contamination from airbourne radiation. To this day some area are still prohibited from being used for livestock.
On the subject of radiation –The russian nuclear power station that had melt down in its reactor — thats now a 100 sq mile exclusion zone
In america a nuclear project deliberatly released radio active waste from its chimney to assess the problems it would cause to the population of a nearby town that was down wind of the site. That was in the 50’s.
Water — This will probably be one of the most costly resources in the future. We are just using it up and demand will eventually outstrip supply by nature. Take the caspian sea which has undergone dramatic changes in levels due to the extraction of water. Thats just an example ! There are numerous other lakes, some of which have dried up due to water extraction. Obviously this cannot contiue.
One of the large shipping companies has allready put forward a feasabilty plan ( cost effective) to tow icebergs from the antartic to areas in need.
We are our own worst enemies. Governments driven by corporate greed and unwilling to attack the problems due to the striving for increase in growth and foreign policy.
The population growth is not sustainable
I recall that the 96 yr old brought up the issue of bees. Not as daft as you might think. Without crop pollination by bees the
american hectares of food cultivation would be devastated.. They already have a severe problem with bees being infected by killer bugs, thousands of hives which were earmarked for cultivation areas ( delivered by truck ) have been desimated. To overcome this the USA is importing thousands of unaffected hives from Austrailia,. So you think there isn’t a problem ?
      Enough for now
      regards

Your ignorance belies your young mind. Cherish Mother Earth for one day soon, She shall have Herself again. Man will walk no more and She shall be free.

    • paul clark said,

without bees no pollination, no plant propagation, no food, no oxygen. and the connection between pesticide use and bee population decline is now well established. the agricultural revolution advanced through pesticides and fertilisers, by products of short sighted science, has led to the depletion of aquifers along with bee extinction. and petrochemicals, monsanto, pharmeceuticals, the list goes on. yes we have made a mess of this planet which is now poisoned and stripped of resources. not much time left. wake up and get informed!!

  4. namirimu said,

If anyone wants to stop the destruction of our planet, the first thing they need to consider is what they buy and how much they buy,.

To learn to be happy with the basics. Our own greed for consumer goods is at the heart of climate change. We are all linked; we have all contributed to the ruination of the earth.

My plan is to be happy with what I already have.

Instead of replacing that old dresser, repair it.

Instead of replacing it with a bigger one, donate what does not fit.

Instead of driving to work, walk or ride a bicycle

Instead of buying a lunch, make one at home and put it in a reusable container

Instead of buying a new computer, go to the library and use the public computer or read old books.

Instead of taking a vacation far away from home, vacation in your town.

This sounds like a recipe for an economic collapse, but what is the alternative. If we continue with the status quo, we will loose much more!

    • randallbutisingh said,

Great advice namirimu. I truly appreciate.

    • Ranelagh said,

“This sounds like a recipe for an economic collapse”

If doing those things causes the economy to collapse then it was the wrong kind of economy to have. A stupid economy. Good businesses adapt to a changing business environment.

Dear Randall, if you are really as old as you claim bless you for being around and leaving your few words of concern about the state of the planet. Please let us have more specific information on the changes you have noticed over the years. I am 48 and having lived in most of the time in Europe I can tell you that I witness the changes you are mentioning on a daily basis. I think it most important that people of your generation share as much of the information they have from their own experience before they move on. My grandgrandmother who grew to almost 100 years and was born 1888 left me with a stern warning about the unforgivingness of nature and always struck me with her fear of of the unforseeable resulting from unthoughtful habits of mankind. I strongly believe that we are in for some bad things in the near future. I am personally only little concerned with the elaborate explanations scientist give as usually they prove themselves wrong after a while. That is why it is my personal opinion so important to have people like yourselve provide us with first hand accounts before the facts you may be able to share are lost to us. Regards from a globally warmed Switzerland, inundated at times lately by monsoon like rains. Andy

      Hi Andy,

Randalls blog about the destruction of planet earth was posted in 2008. I hope he is still alive to have witnessed the floods in Pakistan, the fires and drought in Russia, the oil spill in the gulf of Mexico, the catastrophic earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, the Icelandic volcano that paralyzed air travel, the breakaway iceburg twice the size of Manhattan and many more….

I wonder what cynical Adam Graye has to say now!

Wherever there is a beginning also ends. Since the Bible also speaks of end of days…..It’s not caused by polution but by distruction and wars of those who scoff at God.

Modern science has proved that God does in fact exist….and also that all we see is an illusion. The Father of creation is our projectionist.

Ir is in what we refer to as our brain and this is a dream. The rest does not exist.

  9. Merl said,

Ohysicisrs discovered before the end of the 1940s that this is nothig but an illusion because it is holographical in nature…..transmitted to our brain as in our solid dreams. The universe is nothing but a void and God is the creator of all of it. This information is known by our governments and is TOP SECRET.

WE SHOULD ALL GO BACK TO MORE SIMPLE WAYS OF LIFE , NOT ONLY FOR US BUT FOR THE FUTURE GENERATIONS, FOR THEY WILL BE THE FUTURE. BUT WHAT MORE CAN WE REALLY DO DO SAVE OUR PLANET AND SAVE OURSELVES FROM DISTRUCTION BECAUSE WE HEAR ALL OF THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN BUT YET WE REALLY DONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BUT TALK, EVERYTHING NOW ADAYS IS JUST FOR MONEY EVERYTHING IS CORRUPT IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER FOR MONEY. WE REALLY DON’T THINK OR CARE ABOUT OTHERS THE WAY WE SHOULD.. MAYBE WE GET A GOOD SPEACH FROM PERSONS THAT SHOULD BUT THEY REALLY DONT CARE ABOUT US OR OUR CHILDREN OR THE ANIMALS OR THE WATER OR THE FOREST OR THE AIR OR THE SICKNESS OF THE PEOPLE. UNFORTUNALLY WE ARE ALL SUFFERRING ONE WAY OR ANOTHER BECAUSE OF IT AND NO ONE REALLY CARES TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND I MEAN REALLY AND TRULLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. EVERYDAY LIKE BABY STEPS TO TRY TO STOP IT, SO WE CAN ALL LIVE IN A BEETER PLACE, REALLY HELP ONE ANOTHER IN EVERY CITY, STATE, COUNTRY FREE AS BIRDS FLY.. WITHOUT COSTING ONE CENT, BUT FROM THE HEART REALLY TRY TO LOVE AND CHERRISH WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN US FOR ONCE IT’S GONE THERES NO WAY BACK FOR ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY ..

  15. Hi Randall,

As I write, the east coast of United States has a crisis on it’s hands. Hurricane/tropical storm Sandy happened. This kind of that just happened on the east coast of United States, happens all the time in the poor countries but no one pays any attention to them. I hope we will all learn from this.
