EVERYTHING’S FINE

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

EVERYTHING’S FINE….

By the Brahma Kumaris, a spiritual organization committed to self transformation through meditation and positive thinking.

During and after the end of WW II, as the founding fathers of the United Nations formulated a blueprint for a world peace, security and justice, the founding members of the Brahma Kumaris were researching core values which they considered necessary to restore individual worth and human dignity.
In 1980, the relationship between the United Nations was formulated.

“To a truly contented and enlightened soul, everything in the world, which means the way the world is right now, is just fine. To the unenlightened and discontented soul, this will sound like a massive avoidance. But think about it. Does the masterful actor go to the theatre for their evening performance, and on entering the stage start shifting the backdrop, altering the scenery and moving the props around? Of course not, they are totally concentrated on the role they need to create and play to the best of their ability. And so it is with the world… The backdrop of our life is the way things are at this moment in time. The props are exactly where they are meant to be at this moment in time. Many people spend their whole lives trying to change the backdrop and move the props around, little realising the futility of the exercise… Yes, they may succeed in altering an angle here, a minute part of the picture there; but all at the cost of the focus and the energy needed to put on their best performance and achieve their own highest standards of excellence, not only will those around them be changed automatically as the invitation rolls in to perform their life elsewhere. Excellence is a much more powerful influence in the world than discontent. So everything is fine out there. No one says it is perfect; but it is exactly the way it should be…at this moment. So, here is the paradox of effective change – if you want to influence change for the better, then the more effective way to begin is with contentment with the way things are. The way things are, are the way they are meant to be.”

I find it just a wee bit ludicrous that the Brahma Kumaris’ idea of “the way things are, are the way they are meant to be” is being passed off as spiritual and philosophical teachings. As a matter of fact, it is a contradiction in terms when, as was quoted, they were referred to, as a “Spiritual organization COMMITTED TO SELF TRANSFORMATION……”

Why not accept themselves as the way they are, and be static? And follow their own maxim,”If you want to influence change for the better, then the more effective way to begin is with contentment with the way things are”.
Then, to what avail were we graced by Lord Krishna, Buddha, Socrates, Jesus, Muhammad, St.Francis of Assissi, Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr., etc.?

What was the great scheme of things behind those personalities?
Why the lucubration of Plato, Omar Khayyam, Kabir, Lincoln, Thoreau, Emerson, Tagore, Gibran, to name a few?

I remember back in 1979,when,upon visiting a relative in Queens, NY, he proudly unrolled a scroll and displayed graphs of past and future courses of man’s history on earth. He showed me four phases, and tried to convince me that humans return to earth every 5,000 years to repeat the same foolish and egotistical bahaviour, until again they reached the golden age and made the same circle repetitiously, forever,.(As taught by the Kumaris.)

The masterful actors in life’s play must seek to re-esblish their spirituality with the oneness of creation; this is not a stage, and no mere child’s play, so when Shakespeare said that the world is a stage, and we are all actors, it was in an entirely different context and had nothing to do with man’s quest for his return to divinity, else no Krishna, no Jesus.
“The worst of all actions is inaction,” from the Holy Vedas.
I have no creed, and am eclectic.

    Patanjali Ramlall.

Teacher Randall, and CB, you can use my name.

  2. Thanks Pat for your comments on the Philosophy of the Braham Kumaris. I do not disagree or agree with them. I try to see how much truth I can glean from their way of thinking. As one inteerested in Comparative Religion and philosophy, I have an open mind. I just present to my readers the viewpoint of each of those I study. Surely, if one looks carefully and without prejudice, one may perhaps perceive an elememt of truth; for no being born in the flesh can be certain he has found the whole truth. As with culture, if we can cull the best in each, so with religion, for every one is trying by his own pathway to reach that One Incomprehensible No Thing which some call God, some Ishwar and some Allah.

    “Agree or disagree.”
The Swiss had a wonderful word for that in WWII. They called it “neutrality”. Yet they ended up with the “lion’s share” in their vaults and banks, from loot deposited by Nazis, extracted by murderous and ruthless means, including, but not limited to digging gold out from the mouths of their murdered Jewish victims. I would like to see moral actions in their “neutrality”.

This I firmly believe in – only in actions are humans capable of being neutral. But, to “agree or disagree,” by thoughts,…… well, the mind has a logic of its own and knows the difference. I can’t remember reading about any of the philosophers “agreeing or disagreeing” with truth. If you find one, please inform me.

I cannot preach one doctrine to the masses, and yet practice the opposite.

In any case, nature has endowed us with Free Will, and it is up to us to do as we please. The Kumaries are free to spread their message of “self-transformation”. And I am free to think.

    Your chela,
    Patanjali Ramlall

Scam artists – your foolishness will be instantly deleted, but being who you are, you will still try.

  4. What I have gleaned from the Bramha Kumari’s philosophy is that one must not complain about things as they are. It is the way it is meant to be and should not affect one. But what one has to do is to strive for excellence in the environment, whatever it may be, by meditation and positive thinking. When excellence is achieved, it will affect those around. So to effect change in others one must effect change in oneself. Whether I agree or disagree is out of question.

  5. This is just a repetition of the Brahma Kumaris own PR spin.

The Brahma Kumaris are an end of the world cult whose spirit guide speaking through the movement’s psychic mediums predicts an imminent and desirable nuclear holocaust which, along with the sinking of all continents except for India, will kill 6,000,000,000 human beings so that 900,000 of their faithful followers will inherit “heaven on earth. Which will, of course, be ruled by their current leaders reborn as Emperors and Empresses.

Followers are encouraged to surrender their mind, body and wealth to this spirit entity in order to receive a high status in this Golden Age.

Problem arise when we discover that the spirit entity, which is the focus of their meditation not “God” as the rest of the world would understand it, and the leadership have predicted “Destruction” on numerous occasions; WWII, 1950, 1976, mid-1980s, Year 2000 etc. Followers are kept believing it will happening shortly whilst being milked for money and free labor … not told about the previous failed predictions nor the historical revisions.

Their PR version of their own history is falsified, yet they claim their leaders are twice as spiritual as Christ, Buddha, Mohammed and the rest, members of the top 8 or 108 souls in the world, and that their millionaire founder, who they also thought was God until the 1950s, will be reborn again as Krishna.

Folks … dig a little deeper before selling your soul.

It is invariably the young child, or apparent fool, that is the only one to cry out when “the Emperors have no clothes on”.
