HAPPINESS – Albert Schweitzer

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

HAPPINESS – Albert Schweitzer

It was Albert Schweitzer, that noble humanitarian, holder of four doctorates, pastor and  concert organist who left civilization and went to Lambarene in Africa to work as physician and surgeon among the poor Blacks living there. It was he who said: “Happiness is nothing more than Health and a Poor Memory.” He must have meant that we should not live in the past; that is gone forever; we cannot undo what we have done. Every new day we have a clean slate to write on and a fresh opportunity to redeem ourselves. God is not a God of the past, He lives in the everlasting present and sees us as we are, not as how we were.
