Here are some suggestions for your health and well being which I have practised throughout the years: I am now 96 plus.
1. Sit ip straight and do some deep breathing when you are relaxing during the day.
2. Drink a glass of hot water first thing in the morning and last thing at night. This will help with your blood pressure and bowel evacuation.
3. Do not drink while eating, and drink nothing cold after eating. A little hot tea or soup will help with the digestion Chew your food properly and do not overeat. not chewing properly and overeating impair the digestive organs. Eat only when hungry, because it is then when the digestive organs are ready to do their work. Above all eat with a thankful heart, even if it is a crust of dry bread; it will do you good.
3. Eat as much fruit or raw vegetables as you can and always take it on an empty stomach, not after you have eaten cooked food. You will get all the vitamins from the different fruits. Sit in the sunlight for a while. You will get your vitamin D there.
4. If you are having sleeplessness, wet one of your woolen or even cotton vests, wring it dry and wrap it in a large towel, then wrap it around you just under the navel; you will see how soothing it will be. It will also help constipation.
5. To avoid getting diabetes, or if you have it, use the bitter lemon as much as possible. You can cook it or soak it in water overnight or boil it and drink the water, a little every day
6. Cut down on your salty intake, especially if you are not doing work where you perspire a lot. It will prevent kidney stones.
7. Exercise every day. Brisk walking, swimming or light calisthenics are enough to keep you physically fit. It will also help you sleep.
