The instinctive Bee, our teacher of industry and diligence, and the indispensable friend of the farmer, is being threatened with extinction by the activities of intellectual man, the apex of God’s creation, who, through greed for short time gains, is polluting the environment with noxious chemicals sprayed in the air. Yet those who are promising to bring change, and alleviate suffering, rant about the economy, and terrorism. and ignore the possibility of starvation if this trend should continue.
The plunge into unprovoked warfare by a born again christian has opened a Pandora’s Box and also landed the nation into a quagmire; now this violation of nature is threatening our very survival as a species..

THE HOLY QUR’AN, the Scripture of Islam
An observation by Randall Butisingh.
There is the fine Thread of Truth woven
in the fabric of every religion.
The Holy Qur’an, a revelation to the prophet Muhamad, on whom be peace, is written in classic Arabic verse. Most scriptures are written in exquisite verse called poetry.
As poetry cannot be defined - any definition will be like trying to paint the wind - unlike the Hadith which is written in prose, the Qur’an loses its essence in translation. A thousand books in explanations and commentaries cannot capture the true message which transcends the beauty, music and imagery of the written word.
The true message, like all good poetry, is that which is felt but cannot be written; and it needs not scholarship but the faith and humility of the listener to get the message.
Poetry is an expression of the feelings and emotion, and anyone, scholar or unlettered, can be a poet, if he can feel deeply; e.g. Kabir whose poetry is researched and commended by scholars; but not everyone can get beyond the beauty of the craftsmanship and the music, which appeal to the senses, to the feeling of the poet which is the true message.
That poetry cannot be enjoyed by the majority is an indication that practicality has blunted the imagination and the visible and transient world appears to be the only reality.
That there is conflict in religion is because of the inability to see the fine thread of truth which is woven into the fabric of all the great religions. All the great teachers and mystics have found this thread, and have reached out in love and unity in their journey by different paths, towards the one God who is the Father of all mankind.

THOUGHT TAKEN FROM FLASHES OF LIGHT
by Randall Butisingh
Articulate communication between kindred souls needs not loquacity or glibness of tongue. Silence or the struggle for utterance is more fully apprehended.

Thought from FLASHES OF LIGHT
by Randall Butisingh
In the eyes of God, every human being has the same intrinsic and potential value - a child of God and an inheritor of the Kingdom of Heaven.

RELIGION has failed because it ceases to be exclusive and divisive. It has failed if man does not see the Image of God, the Divine Spark, in all mankind and recognise every one as his brother, his kin. It has fallen short if man does not love his fellow man as he loves himself. Man must realise that his body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and not one made by his own hands.

COMELINESS, not BEAUTY, is skindeep
True BEAUTY is the ineffable radiance of the pure in heart. It transcends barriers of Colour, Race and Creed. BEAUTY is TRUTH. it is the soul’s passport to Heaven.

If you multiply your wants, you will also multiply your cares. Simplicity and contentment are gems of great value. Your aim should be, not how much you can accumulate, but how little you can live on.

A GOOD EDUCATION takes cognizance of all aspects of one’s development, physical, mental and spiritual. Neglect in any one of these results in a lopsided personality which diminishes the quality of life.

AN OBSERVATION
by Randall Butisingh
As a believer in the Teachings of Jesus who was the Christ, the Messiah, who said He was the son of the unchanging God, the All Wise, the All Powerful, the All Pervading; the man who taught Love and Forgiveness, even to those who are your enemies. I am at a loss to know why born again Christians fail to adhere to his teachings but revert to the teachings of the Old Testament of the Jews who rejected Him and crucified Him; which teachings they take literally; every dot and comma. Some of them say that they do not, however, take the one that says: “No man can serve two masters………God and money.” Can they be true Christians? In my opinion, I cannot see how they are.
According to the Old Testament, the Jews’ God, Jehovah, did things for which He regretted, like when He drowned His people in the Flood. He is said to be a jealous God, in the second of the Ten Commandments, who visits the sins of the father unto the third and fourth generation. He also showed vindictiveness and cruelty when he told the prophet Samuel to order King Saul to slaughter every Amelakite, man, woman and child and to destroy all their livestock. There are other instances in the Old Testament where He differed from the God of the New Testament who was a loving God, ever forgiving.
Can both these Gods be reconciled? Let Christians think and choose.
